Should I?

I went to open the bottle of grapefruit juice I bought at StopnShop Monday and noticed the paper seal at the lid was broken.

I didn’t think too much about it, although it bothered me, then when I took off the top, the sanitary seal, you know the circle you have to lift and pull to remove but never easily removes, was missing.

It doesn’t look like any juice is missing, that no one opened the bottle at the store to take a swig.

So was it a simple factory mistake and I should pour and enjoy? Should I hold on to it and return it to StopnShop the next time I’m in Bedford? Should I think someone might have put something in it and throw it out? 😬

I’m leaning toward pouring and enjoying. Cough. Cough.

  1. I wouldn’t. Even if it was a simple factory mistake you never know today if someone put something in it. I’d return it to StopnShop full and with the seal missing.

  2. My advice would be to go to Wegman’s and get another bottle right away. That removes the temptation to use this one, then return it to S&S the next time you are in Bedford.

  3. I AM going to Wegman’s today so great idea. Normally I squeeze my own grapefruit juice (always better than the bottled kind) but I brought so little from the house to the apartment, the juicer didn’t make the cut.

  4. I wouldn’t drink it. Could be a manufacturing error but it it could also be some nut who removed the seals. I hope the store takes it seriously and checks or even removes the remains bottles in the shelf.

  5. I was at Wegman’s this afternoon to get a few odds and ends and did buy some of their fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. Hence, I will not drink the other. I’ll make a point of going back to StopnShop this week.

  6. For sure you shouldn’t drink it. The world is full of crazy people. Remember the Tylenol poisonings in the 80’s!

  7. You could have exchanged it at Wegmans’s. Just tell them you don’t have the receipt and want an equal exchange.
