Well, here’s another fine mess you’ve gotten me into Ollie

I ran down the hallway to throw out the trash and grab something I left in the car last night after the party. I had my car keys….

But….. I didn’t have my Apple Watch on or have my phone with the Latch app that recognizes me at these eye portals… so while I could get OUT of the building to my car, I couldn’t get back in.

Now mind you, each portal has a numeric aspect to the screen. Touch it and a keypad appears. Each tenant is given a numeric code for every door in the building and I suppose one is expected to memorize at minimum the code for the door to get in the complex and the code to get in the apartment for this very reason. In case you don’t have a devise with you that has the app.

Did I memorize the codes? No. I did not.

Sooooooooo, I got in the car and DROVE down to the ground floor. Had to get papal dispensation for a new keypad code. A one time only use. Back upstairs. In. Done. Feel stupid but the front desk guy said he hands out codes a couple of times a week. I’m glad I’m not alone. 👵🏻

  1. Now that the party is over, it would be a great opportunity for you to be a good Christian and take your new neighbor a bowl of homemade spaghetti and meatballs.

    1. If I can buy that at Wegman’s maybe. No homemade anything here. I nuked asparagus for dinner. That’s as culinary as I plan to get while living here.

    1. Funny. Very funny. Aah, a key. What a concept! During all the house planning the architects kept suggesting we have a smart house with smart door entrances w/ Alexa capability. LSS, we’ll still be using keys and old school thermostats too.
