Not Wasting Time in Florida

EarthImage has one-upped us, not only buying several brands of ginger beer including Fever Tree, and Reed’s, not on my list, but he’s starting his own tasting before we do. Bravo. He adds that his daughter brought down some Mount Kisco Smokehouse fish spread!!! We’ll be right down on the next Jet Blue.

He gives the all-Gosling original an 8.5. Not bad. Not bad at all.

  1. Earth Image, you’re making us other Floridians look lazy but thanks for the review. I have a feeling the sales of Goslings rum and brands of ginger beer are going to go up after EOS’s series of articles.

  2. have been testing out the Goslings diet ginger beer, good on its own but I don’t think it works with the Rum, I think it needs the real thing

  3. Having a Reed’s as we speak, er write. There is a double strength Reed’s, which I will seek out today.

My mother, before she passed away in 2010, had a Jamaican nurse named Reed, who lives on James Bond Bay, east of Half Moon Bay.

Ian Fleming’s estate is the attraction, but the ginger beer is good.

EOSr did not report that my daughter #3 also arrived with BBQ dry-rub rib slabs from Q Restaurant on Main St. in Port Chester, NY.

I am sending in literal ( & littoral) earth, ocean, sky photos. See, Florida does not have to be boring, say I reading the N Y Times and streaming WQXR.

  4. Musician scale comparison instead of 10=tops.

Bona Fide Jamaican = Bob Marle

    Meyers = a Joni Mitchell
    Goslings Original = Jimi Hendrix
Goslings Bermuda with Fever Tree and lime slice = Wyclef Jean dancing with Shakira
Still seeking the full Bob Marle

  5. A-ha! I don’t have to comment anonymously here. That’s just fine since I’m going to tell you something pragmatic: is, for example, and 8.5/10 ginger beer worth drinking straight? Ginger beer *sounds* delicious.

  6. Oh, go ahead. Start the music and set the mood.

I’ll be posting from Bolivia in 2 weeks any way, after a field investigation of “legal” UN-authorized coca leaf production.

  7. (Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay

    by Otis Redding

    Sittin’ in the mornin’ sun
I’ll be sittin’ when the evenin’ come
    Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch ’em roll away again, yeah
I’m sittin’ on the dock of the bay
    Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I’m just sittin’ on the dock of the bay
    Wastin’ time

I left my home in Georgia
    Headed for the ‘Frisco bay
Cause I’ve had nothing to live for
And look like nothin’s gonna come my way
So I’m just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
    Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I’m sittin’ on the dock of the bay
    Wastin’ time
