A Christmas Miracle!

Earlier today our neighbors were over and we were talking serious issues -their 30-year old daughter has stage four liver cancer. It’s such a crushing blow – a beautiful young woman, married with a one year old son, facing life and death decisions. One of their favorite things is when my tree is all lit, they can see it in all its glory.

The neighbors said he thought we were away because they noticed the tree wasn’t lit for the last couple of days and I explained that the lights were all screwed up because of a faulty wire. They said how much they will miss it, especially tonight and tomorrow as their whole family is gathered.

For the heck of it, about an hour ago I decided to turn on what strands did work – and what do you know – the whole tree lit. I mean, isn’t that some kind of sign?? I think so.

Merry Christmas to one and all. May your day be joyous and bright and may all your Christmas dreams come true.

  1. Merry Christmas to all from Miami. Your tree is gorgeous, the meal divine. Thanks for supporting our local fishing economy too by getting the octopus from here.

    Were all gathered as well.

  2. That is a sign, like CF posts about the anchor items… brought tears to my eyes. A Christmas Miracle definitely. Blessing to all on this magical day — Merry Christmas. Enjoy your family.

  3. I refer to those special little occurrences as lagniappes. Small gifts appearing from time to time -if you look for them. They carry meaning & comfort. Blessings to all.
