I Guess AP stands for Advance Purchase?

From the AP: They are DECLARING the HISTORIC (gag me) nomination of Hillary Clinton as the first yada yada yada…

OMG, today is going to be a good one to walk away from your TV set. The libs are going full orgasm as the Hildabeast takes home California and NJ and is, you know, the first woman….Help me Rhonda.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Striding into history, Hillary Clinton will become the first woman to top the presidential ticket of a major U.S. political party, capturing commitments Monday from the number of delegates needed to win the Democratic nomination.

Clinton’s rise to presumptive nominee arrived nearly eight years to the day after she conceded her first White House campaign to Barack Obama. Back then, she famously noted her inability to “shatter that highest, hardest glass ceiling.”

Campaigning this time as the loyal successor to the nation’s first black president, Clinton held off a surprisingly strong challenge from Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. He mobilized millions with a fervently liberal message and his insurgent candidacy revealed a deep level of national frustration with politics-as-usual, even among Democrats who have controlled the White House since 2009.

The former secretary of state, New York senator and first lady reached the 2,383 delegates needed to become the presumptive Democratic nominee on Monday with a decisive weekend victory in Puerto Rico and a burst of last-minute support from superdelegates. Those are party officials and officeholders, many of them eager to wrap up the primary amid preference polls showing her in a tightening race with presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump.

Clinton has 1,812 pledged delegates won in primaries and caucuses. She also has the support of 571 superdelegates, according to an Associated Press count.

The AP surveyed all 714 superdelegates repeatedly in the past seven months, and only 95 remain publicly uncommitted.

A WSJ reader noted this, quite accurately I might add:

In Clinton fashion, this happens mysteriously on a day with no voting and the day before the California primary where she would potentially be embarrassed. Funny isn’t it? You could suggest that this announcement was made to TIP THE VOTE in California. Nah the Clintons and Democrat party machine wouldn’t do that would they?

So Bernie was right? The nomination was rigged from the get go. Bernie didn’t stand a chance against the Clinton machine – he knew it but gave it a valiant try.

You know the worst part of all this Hillary Thrill Fest? Obama will endorse her tomorrow and will get to be on the campaign trail. Heaven help us all. As Bedford Mom noted yesterday, Obama never made one single comment about D-Day, yet numerous comments about Ramadan. Ugh.

Then there’s Trump. He’s gone totally off the rails lately, stuck on this judge thing when he has so much material to work with – the economy to begin with. C’mon Donald – get with the plan. He’s going to lose if he continues with his stupid name calling.

  1. You are so right. No TV today, especially tonight for when Tingles gets a thrill down his leg. It’s going to be brutal with all the happy dancing in the streets.

You are also spot on about The Donald. Why on earth he insists on denigrating every person on the face of the earth is beyond me. He needs to get going.

  2. Bernie is (rightfully) not a happy camper. I’d be furious too if AP declared Hillary the nominee BEFORE the voting today. It’ll successfully stop a lot of people from going to the polls, the people who would vote for Bernie will figure why bother. It’s criminal.

  3. Here’s Bernie’s official statement on the declaration.

Bernie Sanders’ campaign on Monday evening condemned the media for its “rush to judgment” in declaring Hillary Clinton the Democratic presidential nominee, saying superdelegates should not be automatically counted.
“It is unfortunate that the media, in a rush to judgment, are ignoring the Democratic National Committee’s clear statement that it is wrong to count the votes of superdelegates before they actually vote at the convention this summer,” Sanders’ spokesman Michael Briggs said.

  4. You might want to keep your GOP TOMS in the closet until (if) Donald cleans up his act. I was late to liking him, later to thinking he could beat Hillary, and now plan to crawl back in my hole of oblivion. This is the worst election year I can remember.

    1. Ha, you won’t believe this but I am dressed to head out and pondered what shoes to don and PASSED on the GOP toms for the very reason you outlined. I am not as proud to wear them as I was before. My mother said she now shouts at the TV when Joe Scarborough takes his morning digs at Trump but both of us feel that Trump is the only one to blame if he goes down in flames – maybe he’s incapable of toning it down or addressing the real issues without making it always about himself?

  5. Trump has always been a sore loser and can’t stand people picking on him. He IS incapable of toning things down and Hillary will drive home his message of hate all the way to 1600 PA Avenue. You might as well burn your GOP shoes now. It’s over.

  6. Agree about Trump. I wonder if all the campaigning & whatever “helpers” these presidential candidates MUST be taking to keep this show going have caused him to have a wee breakdown. He’s off the rails with no sign of snapping out of it. I can’t remember the last time there was a presidential candidate that I was really excited about. I hope like hell we have better choices in 4 yrs.

    1. In four years if HRC is president, there will be no hope of turning the country around. That’s why I really don’t understand why Trump doesn’t get on that message. Today. I’m very disheartened.

    2. McConnell and others in the R party who have begrudgingly gotten behind Trump are now furious at Trump for calling everyone names. Trump has it in for the Amish too and called some black people “his blacks”. I can’t support him but that leaves me candidateless. I’ll stay home in November and do my hair and nails.

      1. The media is loving that McConnell has called out Trump. Trump has dug what I think is a hole he can’t climb out of. I’m going to vote for the R, whoever it ends up being. Romney?

    1. I used to watch MoJoe until about two weeks ago when morning after morning Joe went off on Trump in the first two minutes of the show. He’s revolting now.

  7. Trump just put out a statement re the judge. His lawyers must have told him to STFU because he says he will not comment further then added that the media Misconstrued.

    Vomit Alert:
Meanwhile, in Brooklyn, Hillary is blowing up balloons and erecting 10000 American flags to give her victory speech.

    1. You can be sure they will try. My mother said that at least two R senators who previously endorsed Trump came out today to UNendorse him. It’s going to get interesting.

    1. Wellllllll, that’s interesting. I gave up Fox for Lent a few years back, Hannity The Head of Hair leaves me wanting a root canal, but Monica makes all excellent points. I see only 12k people have watched the video. It needs 12 MILLION views to make a dent in the damage Trump has done to his candidacy. No MSM is going to make the points Monica did but she’s basically preaching to the choir.

        1. No, I didn’t say that at all. He surely could have phrased it better. Had he put it in terms of what Monica said, I doubt there’d be such mayhem but he insisted on calling the judge names, like a two year old might. Trump is right in saying the judge has a bias, BUT, he’s got to learn to speak like the adult in the room. That’s all.
