Nonetheless, She Lived There Free, for Eight Years

The torture of Michelle Obama’s life – living in a house built by slaves**.

It’s a wonder she was able to survive, let alone suffer all the perks of the staff, the lavish state dinners – it’s a miracle she’s still alive to tell the tale to young black minds in Harlem to whom she spewed forth her misery.

WARNING: THIS VIDEO CAUSES NAUSEA. Watch at your own risk.

**Well, her story isn’t exactly the truth, but hey, why not teach young minds the wrong facts from the beginning?

From the White House Historical Association website:

Construction on the President’s House began in 1792 in Washington, D.C., a new capital situated in sparsely settled region far from a major population center. The decision to place the capital on land ceded by two slave states-Virginia and Maryland-ultimately influenced the acquisition of laborers to construct its public buildings. The D.C. commissioners, charged by Congress with building the new city under the direction of the president, initially planned to import workers from Europe to meet their labor needs. However, response to recruitment was dismal and soon they turned to African American—enslaved and free—to provide the bulk of labor that built the White House, the United States Capitol, and other early government buildings.

Stonemason Collen Williamson trained enslaved people on the spot at the government’s quarry at Aquia, Virginia. Enslaved people quarried and cut the rough stone that was later dressed and laid by Scottish masons to erect the walls of the President’s House. The slaves joined a work force that included local white laborers and artisans from Maryland and Virginia, as well as immigrants from Ireland, Scotland, and other European nations.

The good news is there’s only 230 DAYS 09 HOURS 37 MINUTES left for their insufferable blatherings about how racism has torn us apart. Um, it’s THEIR racism that has torn us apart. Not mine. Not yours.

The bad news is who fill live in the White House next. The politics have gotten so dirty and awful, even I can’t watch anymore. Ugh.

  1. every chance she gets to remind blacks they were once enslaved, she takes full advantage. it’s like she wants to keep them enslaved by telling them no matter where they go or what they do, a black slave could have built their office, their home, whatever.

Our closing date in June 27 so we are packing up and in total throw away mode. We felt so cleansed after the yard sale that it was the perfect momentum to continue to pare down. We are going from 5500 sf to 2800 and we couldn’t be happier. Our house here was way too big for us to keep up and to maintain -the kids were always in their own spaces, not all together. We purposely looked for a small house when we went hunting. I know we’ll be fine but I am worried about the dog and cat moving – it’s never easy for the pets to relocate.

    1. Did you go around town and take down all the yard signs? I know a blogger who will out you if you didn’t! 🙂

I’m so happy that you guys made it to the other side of bad times. Some families don’t make it when things are rough, but that you did, saw that you needed to make a change and did it – awesome!

  2. Do you think she honestly believes what she says or do you think it’s scripted for her to keep up some BlackLivesMatter agenda?

        1. Hmmm. I actually paused writing successful. I’m not sure what the word should be. He IS President so that in itself presumes he succeeded, twice even. Michelle, that’s another story. She lost her law license in Chicago and she’s not been successful as FL. What word would you choose?

  3. I can’t think of just one word but would lucky recipients of affirmative action do?
