Spying on Me or Practicing for President Hillary?

With alarming frequency, I am getting military-style helicopters going over, low enough to rumble rumble rumble. They go both directions over me and I’d love to find out who they are and why the recent increase in them.

But today, calling an airport and asking such questions, well, let’s just say I bet there’d end up being a huge red flag by my name. Maybe the airport peeps can’t tell me who they are and why they are overhead and the mere act of questioning makes me a suspect? I think I’ve been reading too many mystery novels. I’m still curious.

Anyone else see/hear these?

  1. Yes, we see and hear them. Like last night the helicopter was so loud the house was vibrating we turned the sound on the TV to mute, and to listen and thought it was going to land on the street behind us. It seems like these helicopters are flying along the coastline when I see them in the the daylight and I assume they are going up to Sikorsky in Stratford for repairs or something. Then there were the power lines being inspected that was the story in January.
Some people say the helicopters are part of the National Guard maneuvers. They have to have so many hours of flying time and go out for some touring of the area.

    1. Glad it’s not just us. My first thought was National Guard but why only now? And why so many? And why always the same route over MY (and your) house. In RI we are used to very very low flying red Coast Guard helicopters but those make sense. These do not. So can I count on you to call the National Guard?? ๐Ÿ˜

    1. WHERE ON EARTH DID YOU FIND THAT HYSTERICAL VIDEO???? I watched all 12 minutes, laughing louder at each moment than the one before. My two favorites: Dracula in the parade and the stick of wood as the international symbol for well. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

Do u have any Irish in ya lad? If yes, have a pint on me as a thanks for the funny clip.

        1. aww, gee whiz. That’s a tear jerker. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to those lucky enough to celebrate it. Slainte to all.

  2. Looks like either an Army CH-47 Chinook or a USMC CH-46 Sea Knight. Both made by Boeing. Only nearby base where something could be going on with them is Ft. Drum. Maybe on their way there & back?

  3. We hear and see them too. I can’t swear to it but I think it’s about the same time everyday. One way around 11am. Return trip about 3:30-4.

Off topic: do you know who important died that the Bedford Police sent out an alert to avoid Baldwin Road at 172? Must be at Temple Sharaay Tefila.

    1. Mom- I got the same Nixle alert. I don’t know who it is but agree it must be someone well known to draw a big enough gathering at Sharaay Tefila to have the police recognize it. If you find out let me know.

Thanks too for adding your eyes and ears to the Great Helicopter Mystery.
