Throwback Thursday

Hard to believe it was this time in 2012 that Bedford residents were held hostage in their homes due to massive power outages and trees downed like toothpicks from Sandy. We were without power for nigh onto two weeks, even running out of propane for the generator because too many downed trees prevented the propane trucks from traveling on these back roads.

Yet today, the temps are expected to reach the 70 mark – blue skies up above, everyone’s in love…..

Happy Thursday!

  1. Your second photo is right by me – the corner of Springhurst and McLain – that entire corner was decimated – so many beautiful old trees gone – poof. We weren’t without power as long as you but long enough. It was pretty tough going. Thanks for the throwback, I think.

    1. Good eye. That is the corner of Springhurst.
We were without power so long because of union regulations that ConEd couldn’t repair a line until the tree guys removed the downed limb. Add that to the fact that I live in the least populated corridor of Bedford and that made us last to get up and running.

  2. You’ve got blue skies up above? It’s raining over me and we both live in Bedford. And it’s kinda chilly too.

    1. That’s a riot. Can you imagine the time it took to put all those marshmallows on the trees? That’s a long way to go for a spoof. But a good one indeed.
