Soooooooooooooooo, we’re sitting on the veranda of our Blenheim hotel after breakfast and this cool helicopter lands among the olive trees in the front yard, choppering in an arriving guest. We went out to look and HAD to ask, mmmm, can we take a ride? He said SURE, so off we went, even I, little Suzy Timid, over the grape vineyards, up into the mountains (that’s when I had to hold on for dear life!) and out over the Sound. It was spectacular beyond belief and gave us a MUCH better prospective of the lay of the land. It was still hazy over the Sound but compared to yesterday’s wind and rain, this was perfection.
I was in the back seat (praying I wouldn’t get sick) and taking photos at the same time. The circles you see on some of the photos are the two window air vents. Mr. EOS took a couple of the shots from the front seat but they too had some glare. Nonetheless, some pretty good shots!

helicopter rides look super fun. great pictures by the way. i wish i bought that coupon to learn how to fly one of these things. good post
I went on a helicopter ride in the Hawaiin Islands and it was one of the most awesome things I’ve done in my life. To see all the waterfalls, the extinct volcano from that view was amazing! Good for you Miss Timid! Congrats on being Freshly Pressed! Your pictures are great, thanks for sharing…
My dream is to learn to fly a chopper. Congrats on FP
Beautiful! I, too, would be trying not to get sick — looks like you made it! 😉
Wow, really awesome photos.

Doon: the ride was all of the above except free!!
Scary but fun! Nice photos. Nothing but beautiful land for miles, just the way I like it!
I love looking at the world from above ground level. My favorite memory of flying was comming home for Christmas in the snow and seeing the entire city beneath me like a ceramic Christmas village. It was so cute.
Amazing shots!
It’s great to participate, even tangentially, to such a moving experience. Not everyone gets to see any of the world this way.
Super Cool.
what a wonderful adventure!
My grandfather flies a airplane, which I love riding in when I get a chance, but I have never been in a helicopter, it looks like fun!
Those are great shots! So many blues and greens. I am sure the experience was breath taking.
Very cool.
Add that to my bucket list.
I would have never asked for the ride, lesson learned!
Great photos, they gave me inspiration today since it’s 20 degrees and snow on the ground here in Kansas City!
Thank you 🙂

Great photos! My favorite would be the last one. I hope you enjoyed the copter ride. I also want to experience it someday!

Good for you for being brave. I was in a hot air balloon once, and it was a blast!
What a joy ride! I’m jealous. Great pictures. I could only imagine what a thrill it would be.

Isn’t flying wonderful? Are you tempted to learn to fly?
Wow. I’d love a ride in one of those. Nice pictures and great post.
What a fun time! I don’t know if I’d have the courage to ask to go on a ride! Good for you!
SOOOO Cool! Hunter71
Those are great shots! So many blues and greens. I am sure the experience was breath taking.
Congratulations, EOS! I am so behind in reading blogs, so am embarrassed not to have seen this earlier. Amazing photos! You are a brave one – looks like the ride was a lot of fun!
