The British Are Coming! The British Are Coming!

December 25, 2012

And they want their Yorkshire Pudding.

But guess what, there’s none left! The recipe we used was spot-on perfection, although time consuming and needing to be exact (not my long suit!), they came out like dream puffs. Catherine, we can’t wait to hear if your Yorkshire Pudding met your British mother-in-law’s standards!

The standing rib roast was also perfection, so too the vegetable tian, alternating zucchini, yellow squash, tomato slices, topped with a little goat cheese, olive oil and pepper. Baked for about 40 minutes.

Total time to prepare: four-and-a-half hours. Time to eat. About a half hour. “Others” are doing dishes. Mom gets to put her feet up and call it another successful Christmas. Can you say nap time?

They look so tasty I’m hungry again after knocking off three slices of pizza!

Cobra. They WERE delicious if I do say so myself. I’d say come on over for leftovers but no leftovers are to be found. Hope you had a Merry Christmas.

It really looks good, EOSr! But again, I’ve self- injured myself at the table and have been popping cherry flavored Tums for dessert. And what’s up with those darn snowflakes?!!!

You injured yourself at the table? Slicing the roast and losing a finger? Hope that didn’t get you out of fish duty! In our house, the guys do all the cleanup since the women-folk did the cooking.
Now, as for the snowflakes, WordPress allows bloggers to enable virtual snow through early January. It’s irritating on most posts so I’ll undo it tomorrow. Today it seemed festive.
    Merry end of Christmas.

So glad you had a happy Christmas! I must say, I rocked the kitchen yesterday. May have been my best cooking day ever….yorkshire pudding would have been perfect with the beef tenderloin.

Have been meaning to tell you that I think of you often during the Christmas season and picture you living in Bedford Falls with the Baileys!

Your meal looks and sounds deelish EOS
I think WP is very sick – it took about 5 minutes to open this and there’s a long delay when I type ie every letter I type takes a minute to show up. I’m going to quit WP now.
    merry xmas EOS

Glad to hear your cooking received rave reviews. I’m all in from Christmas and cooking. From here on through the end of the year, Mr. EOS will be lucky if he gets a tuna fish sandwich. The kids took most of the leftovers so the cupboard is back to bare. The treadmill is getting a workout as we sit and await the snow storm coming up the coast.

Jealous for your snow storm! I have more food in my house than we can eat but that means…no cooking for awhile!

In January, I’m introducing myself to Weight Watchers.
